Medicaid Penalty Divisor Increases Again

7-1-2018 -  Effective July 1, 2018, Florida Medicaid has increased the penalty divisor to $9,170.00 (up from $8,662.00).

The divisor is important for those doing Medicaid planning. It is used to calculate the number of months an otherwise eligible individual will be ineligible for benefits ( the "penalty period") if the individual has made gifts during the look-back period.
