Some Medicaid eligibility criteria change effective January 2017

12-9-2016 - Florida Medicaid has revised some of its eligibility criteria for long-term care benefits effective January 1, 2017.  These changes parallel next year's 3% Social Security Cost of Living Adjustment.

  • The Medicaid applicant's gross monthly income cannot exceed $2,205.00 per month.  (was $2,199.00)
  • The applicant's homestead is considered an exempt asset if the equity in the home is below $560,000. (was $552,000)
