Affordable Care Act spawns scams

7-18-2012 - As soon as the Affordable Care Act got the Supreme Court go-ahead in June, the swindlers took to the phones. The Federal Trade Commission is warning citizens about callers who claim to be from the government and request personal information that is needed as a result of passage of the law. Neither the government or any legitimate organization will ask for such information on the phone. Please help by advising your friends and neighbors about this newest scam. The FTC requests that anyone receiving such a call hang up and report the incident at www.ftc.gov or call 1-877-FTC-HELP.
